Painting by Liam Hanley
Hill of Saints
22 x 17 in
Liam Hanely is now known for his paintings of the English countryside. However, he did not become a full time artist until the 1980’s at the age of 55. He studied cubist-influenced artist Ben Nicholson, and still life artist Giorgio Morandi. Their influence is easily found in Hanley’s style. He said of his work, “I do not paint of things. I paint about things and feelings.” This piece is signed, bottom left corner.
